ATKV Drakensville, a family resort in the heart of the Drakensberg, is thrilled to announce its cutting-edge Environmental Centre aimed at enhancing experiential learning opportunities for students during school camps.

The Environmental Centre represents a significant step forward to environmental education and sustainability. Designed to immerse learners in hands-on learning experiences, the centre offers a diverse range of activities and resources focused on environmental stewardship, conservation, and outdoor exploration.

At the Environmental Centre, learners will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of enriching experiences, including:

1. Nature walks and hikes: Led by registered tour guides, learners will explore the surrounding natural habitats, learning about local flora and fauna while developing an appreciation for the environment. Specialised activities and hikes such as fossil hunting, a night sounds march, medicinal plants and so much more can be arranged. We custom-build the programme according to the group's needs
2. Team-building activities: Collaborative activities and challenges will foster teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills, while reinforcing the importance of cooperation in addressing environmental challenges.
3. Outdoor: Engaging workshops will cover topics such as sustainable living practices, renewable energy and environmental advocacy, empowering learners to become leaders in their communities.
4. Adventure: Lots of fun adventure activities to do on the resort, such as zip lining, rafting, paintball and loads more. Adventure forms the base of this experiential learning programme that gets your hands dirty while being educational in all aspects or purely to have a bit of fun in the beauty of the Drakensberg.

The Environmental Centre serves as a dynamic learning hub for school camps, providing a platform for learners to connect with nature, develop essential life skills and cultivate a sense of environmental responsibility, all while having fun.
