Lockdown officially extended!
On 9 April 2020, during the most recent presidential address where President Cyril Ramaphosa spoke to South Africans about the latest news and developments around the COVID-19 pandemic, it was announced that the official lockdown, which has already been in place since 26 March, will be extended. The extension of 14 days means that the lockdown will now only be lifted at midnight on 30 April.
Although the President’s opinion on Thursday was that it is still too early to do an accurate analysis of the spread of COVID-19 in South Africa, he firmly believes that the lockdown is working. He also made it clear that it can be fatal to end the lockdown too early, as South Africa could then risk that the spread will again increase.
As loyal citizens, ATKV resorts support the President’s decision. Both the health of our guests and the experiences that we offer them at our resorts are equally important to us.
Taking the President’s decision into account, our resorts will remain closed for now.
